Studio Mentoring with a Fashion Flair

Beginner Session: (4.5 hours of instruction)

Session 1: Learning the equipment in studio (1.5 hrs)

We will learn in-depth how to properly set up and use studio strobes, light modifiers, strobe triggers, light stands and booms.

Session 2: Photographing Subjects in studio (1.5 hr)

You will learn how classical portraiture relates directly to  everyday portraiture in fashion. We will explore specific techniques using 1, 2, and 3 lights as they relate to creating professional lighting patterns.

Session 3: Portfolio Development (1.5)
You will photograph a live model for your portfolio based on Session 1 and 2.

Requirements and conditions:

  • You must complete all the sessions within 4 weeks
  • You should arrive early for all your sessions. If you are late, even 1 minute, your session will be canceled, you will be dropped from the program, and you will  lose your entire payment.
  • During the 3 week session you will be required to complete some very specific assignments and email them to me. All assignments must be completed before the session starts.
  • You must be prepared, for example, your camera batteries must be charged, have clean   memory cards, and  be prepared to work.

Keith B. Dixon who has been a successful commercial photographer for over 6 years and specializes in corporate event photography, executive portraits, and editorial assignment work in the health care, computer technology, bio-tech, fashion and real estate related photography. Keith’s work has been published in various trade magazines in the San Francisco Bay Area, Sacramento, and Nationally.
